Today we commemorate the 74th anniversary of the D Day invasion of Normandy which led to the liberation of Europe. On June 6, 1944, more than 160,000 Allied (American, Canadian and British) troops landed at Normandy. Over 10,000 Allied soldiers were killed or wounded.
